Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

You may want to know

Packing for an  African Safari isn't an ordinary thing like it's done with other trips. Usually going on safari first time comes with some challenges especially when choosing what to pack for your trip. When packing, adequate preparation is required & essentials need to be considered first.

1. SAFARI Clothes.

Don't pack anything for your  African Safari. Your comfort while on safari matters a lot & try as much as possible to pack lightly for your bush Experience. The key clothes we can recommend include environmentally friendly attire- Get long sleeved shirt, avoid brightl colored clothes,; water proof hiking boots ( for travellers visiting Uganda, Rwanda & Congo for Gorilla Trekking), Gardening glooves, stockings,  long trousers, long sleeved shirts, rain jackets.

2. First aid/ medical kit.

There are several items you should consider packing in your first aid kit including malaria tablets, anti- nausea tablets, basic medical items like antiseptic, band aids, aspirin, anti histamine cream, moisturizer, hair brush, nail scissor, insect repellent, etc.

3. Medication.

Carry enough of daily vitamins and should be prescribed medicine that can last for you for a good time. However make sure you have them kept/ stored in good conditions. Some of the medications you may need while on safari depending on your health conditions include pain killers, allergy remedy, antiseptic cream, rehydration salts, heart burn remedy, cold or flu tablets, etc.

4. Gear.

A part from the usual electronics, essential gears you should include into your packing for African SAFARI range from pair of binoculars, camera batteries, memory cards, chargers, water proof covers for cameras, sun glasses, etc

5. Plug converters;

Plug converters should be part of your pack for  African Safari. Most  African Safari Destinations use 220 to 240 Volt' electricity though the plug type may vary from destination to destination. Carry a plug that does matches the rest of the world and other items you shouldn't forget include camera chargers, laptop chargers, and you can have a plug Adapter to ensure that you plug them all.

6. Gorilla trekking essential items.

Gorilla Trekking often comes second after game drives as the most looked for wildlife Experiences on Safari, But you must pack well on this Experience. Starting with long sleeved shirt, Gardening glooves, water proof hiking boots, long stockings, snacks, water, insect repellent, camera with no flash light, valid Gorilla trekking permit- book one in advance if you Visiting Uganda, Rwanda, Congo , VISAS and passports.

Insect repellent with no doubt if you heading to Uganda,  Congo and Rwanda.

Avoid these when packing for an African Safari.

*Bright clothes including military like clothes.

* Plastic bags.

* Drones

At Tribal Nomads Uganda Safaris, we happy to Guide you in Uganda, and Rwanda Africa.

For one to Enter to uganda, he or she needs a visa at any point of entry into the country. The government of UGANDA introduced an online visa/ permit application system with an effect from 1st July 2016.

Safari Accommodation varies in service depending on whether it's budget, mid-range or luxury option. That's, a person who pays for luxury Accommodationand may not get the same services as one who paid for budget or mid-range option.

We advice our clients here to choose from luxury, mid-range or budget on how much money they are willing to pay. We want to assure you that there's no need to worry here , our team has done all the ground work for you & be assured of the accommodation that we will always recommend to you....it always suits you better.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY SAFARI.

After finding a suitable safari package that suits you best from our packages, the next step is to confirm your air ticket & arrival date with us so that we can be able to book & organise your Gorilla & Chimps trek permits depending on the Safari booked.

WHAT CURRENCY?

For us at TRIBAL NOMADS UGANDA, we accept payments in USD, pounds & Uganda Shillings.

BANK TRANSFERS.

By far easiest option for us  @tribal Nomads Uganda safaris & you to make payments is using the bank on line transfer ( wire transfer). Our bank details will be shared to you to let you do the transfer easily. All our Safari transactions are paid under the bank Accounts of our Head / Lead Guide Mr. Ainomugisha John. Further details will always be shared to you for the transfer.

CASH ON ARRIVAL.

We understand that it can be daunting to wire thousands of dollars to a foreign country on good faith, so we are prepared to negotiate with you cash on arrival in certain circumstances. While deposits will be made via bank transfer at time of booking, you may still be able to Bring along dollars with you & pay balance at the beginning of your safari.

WHAT ABOUT REFUNDS.

We understand that sometimes life happens. Death in the family , sudden illness, changes in financial situations, pregnancies & let's say other reasons & factors that may need you to cancel your safari. Whenever possible, we will always recommend rescheduling your safari holiday to other preferred days of your choice than cancelling it why? While hotels may refuse to do refunds, many will be flexible to Changing to other future dates.

TRAVEL INSURANCE.

We always recommend our clients to take the comprehensive insurance policy as part of booking with us. Any good Travel insurance policy will cover you in the unfortunate event that you need to cancel or reschedule your trip

Uganda's currency is the ugandan shillings. [1usd is around Ush 3800] . USD are widely accepted for lodging, activities, Park entrance fees, & safari activities. The dollar bills need to be newer than 2003 & have no tears on them to be accepted here.

UGANDA is a cash society: many lodges & restaurants don't accept credit cards, so always carry some cash with you. There are ATM's located in towns across the country but if you travelling to remote areas, then please always carry Cash.
INCLUSIVE.
•Ground transport
•All Park Entrance fees
•Gorilla & ChimpsTrek permits.
•Government taxes
•Meals & Breakfast.

One to travel to Uganda idependently is by hiring a 4×4 car. This is highly recommended because of the unpaved roads which are often extremely bumpy & pathholed as most of the roads in the parks are suitable for 4×4 safari cars.

However driving on the rough Uganda roads isn't for the faint hearted & if you don't have much experience driving on the African roads, it's advisable to look for a guide safari driver throughout your trip here.

If you don't hire a car , your options for getting around cities is by using shared taxi vans, motorcycle & boda bodas. For long distance between major towns, the most affordable option is coaches which are slow & can be crowded sometimes.

The most Hassel free way to travel around uganda' is to fly aerolink (www.aerolink.com) which flies to top 5 uganda's national Park
Officially Uganda has rainy season from September to November & from mid March to May & dry season from January to mid March & June to mid September. Dry months are the best to travel to Uganda with July & August as peak season ( busy season).

Most rains fall From in October to November & mid March to May. However this doesn't mean that rains everyday but definitely in Uganda , you can trust that after rain , comes sunshine. This doesn't still have to stop you from travelling in wet season
